Guidelines For Article Submissions: The following guidelines must be adhered to or your article will not be considered for publication within the Ummah Café. 1. The subject of articles should be to promote communication and respect throughout our community in order to better facilitate the many cultural expressions of the wider Muslim community (Ummah). Articles can also address social and religious issues, pose questions and invoke thought, and provide inspiration and encouragement. 2. Subjects of articles will not be used to show favor of one race/cultural/ethnic group over another. Articles submitted will not contain any of the following: a. Prejudice b. Hate c. Bigotry d. Racism e. Backbiting, rumors or slander 3. Any and all references must be sited. For instance, if an Ayat is quoted to support any topic/subject, the correct reference of the Ayat must be noted as follows: Surah Al Baqarah, Ayah 31, or as Qur’an 2:31. Also the translation from which the Ayat is referenced must be noted. Such as: “Yusef Ali translation of The Glorious Qur’an” or “The Pickthall Version of the Holy Qur’an”, etc. 4. All articles must be an original work from the author, or referenced to the original author and given the proper credit. All quotes must be noted as such. Articles must contain a minimum of 75% originality to be considered. 5. All points of view will be accepted, and respected. Ummah Café does not subscribe as an organization to any particular madhab, tariqah or Islamic point of view and we welcome all as forms of knowledge. 6. All articles do not necessarily express the views and opinions of the Ummah Café staff. However, we are responsible for what we publish, and any articles not following our guidelines will not be published as we reserve this right. 7. The Editor and the Ummah Café reserve the right to edit, change, modify, verify and/ or deny the publication of any article submitted to the Ummah Café.
